If you own a small business, you’ve probably heard a million different opinions about what your website should be built with.
Some folks will tell you to go “full enterprise” with a stack so complex you’ll need a team of engineers and three years of your life to launch a contact page.
Let’s skip that.
Here’s my go-to setup for 2024—fast, affordable, and easy to maintain, without selling your soul to a monthly subscription plan you can’t escape:
Think of 11ty like that reliable old truck that starts every morning—except it’s also secretly a sports car. It builds your site into plain HTML, which means it loads fast, looks great to Google, and doesn’t need constant maintenance.
Why it’s great for you:
Your site’s main pages? Static and speedy. But for the parts where you want some flair—like a booking form that updates instantly or a live menu—Vue steps in. Paired with Vite, it’s quick to build and doesn’t drag your site down.
Why it’s great for you:
n8n is like that employee who never calls in sick, never complains, and works 24/7. It automates boring stuff—sending form responses to your email, updating your CRM, posting your new products to social media—without you lifting a finger.
Why it’s great for you:
Not a designer? No problem. Bootstrap gives your site a clean, professional look right out of the box. It’s like putting on a well-fitted suit—it just works.
Why it’s great for you:
Your site needs a place to store info—customer details, product lists, bookings. PostgreSQL is great for structured stuff (like orders or schedules). MongoDB is better for flexible stuff (like blog posts or product catalogs). Either way, your data’s safe and organized.
Why it’s great for you:
In 2024, building a small business website doesn’t have to be a tech nightmare.
This stack—11ty + Vue (Vite) + n8n + Bootstrap + PostgreSQL/MongoDB—is fast, clean, and built to work as hard as you do.
It’s like hiring a team of experts, except they don’t eat your snacks or leave passive-aggressive notes in the break room.
You don't have to take my word for it. Here's what my clients and team-mates have to say about working with me. References are available upon request.
Estée Lauder Companies Online
(Digital Producer)
In my seven plus years of digital production, Chris is the best developer I've worked with. Hands down. On top of being a true jack-of-all-trades, he combines proficiency with a forward-thinking, problem-solving mentality and is a huge asset to every project he is a part of.
DoublePrime Inc (President)
I have been working with Chris for almost 10 years, and in every single engagement he has delivered top quality and professional work to us and our customers. Chris' passion for technology and finding the right solutions to business challenges have consistently set him apart from other developers and technical leaders. We look forward to many more projects working together!
The Crab Place Inc. (CEO)
Chris is fantastic to work with. Very responsive and efficient. Plus, he’s able to speak in layman terms so I don’t always have to understand the tech lingo involved with the work done on his end. Highly recommend.
Ryd & Doyle (CEO)
Over the course of my career of twenty five-plus years, I've
worked with hundreds of developers. If you ask me "who was the best you've ever
worked with", I would immediately respond with "Chris Mincarelli".
Chris
combines intelligence, creativity, and work ethic like no one I've ever met. He
consistently produces the highest quality deliverables, well-designed and
conforming to standards, on-time and in-budget. His code is always clean, tight,
well-documented and highly maintainable. He stays up to date on industry trends and
new technologies, applying what he learns to his work.
In terms of getting
projects done and done right, Chris sets the standard to which I aspire.
Director of Production at Estee Lauder Group of Companies
If I had a technology company, I’d make Chris my CTO.
I’ve
worked with him on a number of projects and every interaction I’ve had has
confirmed that he is a superb developer who takes the time to understand and care
about the business cases, and the underlying logic of what he’s doing. He maintains
great vision instead of getting lost in a sea of tickets. To boot, Chris is
consistently an early adopter of new technologies and methods. Add a bit of
sarcastic wit and voila!
